Dining with class-Aug 18

Winners in Victoria

First things first-

lining up to catch the ferry to Comox at 7:30AM. Little Lorraine(barely 5 ft tall) is being presented with a booster seat as a joke.

Breakfast on the ferry-no one has ever accused us of having poor appetities.
A posh dinner on Friday night with

Iona Campagnolo, Lieutenant Governor,
at Government House-with 300 breast cancer survivors.Our tent site-picture a small parking lot with 90 army tents for 90 teams of 26 persons each. About 2400 people.

Wonderful team names like

"Gift of Life" (all organ transplant team)

"Blind Ambition" (a blind team)

"Navy-Dragon Anchors",

"Strokes of Genius",

"Xtreme Reach",

"O2P" (kidney transplant team)

Heading out for the breast cancer race-pink shirts for that race, blue shirts for the other races.

Breast cancer carnation ceremony-we are in boat #2.

Winning our heat, by a nose (Team #2).

Notice the quick stop necessary at the end of the race to avoid the yachts parked in front of the Empress Hotel.

Winners of crystal Class "B" event

and

5th out of 10 teams in the Breast Cancer Challenge.

My seal

When Lesley and Derek were here they bought us this soap stone carving. Those of you who have been out here will recognize Deborah's work from her Lund gallery. She does beautiful work, and those who try to imitate her just cannot compare.
