It's that time again.....

The local bird expert says that the eagles have mated and today we saw evidence that they are ready to set up housekeeping again

-seems early but what do I know?

Lots of them around these days. They seem to disappear all summer-probably out teaching their offspring how to fish.

These are the Catholic eagles high above the Convent on Marine Ave.

Hope it warms up a bit;

their nest would have been full of snow this morning....

This week in Powell River

Our sailing friend Ray, was out a few days ago emptying his prawn traps and found he was in the company of a few whales. You can see all his pictures from that day at:

We've had a real cold spell-about -6.

I know it doesn't sound bad to you easterners, but it's a wet cold and really penetrates if there is a breeze. It's been cold enough to put a sheet of ice around our boat in the harbour. Apparently the fresh water sits on top of the salt water and that's what freezes.

Otherwise we are fine-getting lots of exercise, swimming, gym, walking etc.

Choir practice and Lions Club and thinking about paddling soon.

Devon age 4 got an electric guitar for Christmas(thanks a lot, Santa!). No strings but she managed to make music anyway

-we had this same pose 4 years ago when Devon was a couple months old-quite a change. Now Kenzie(16) has his driver's licence, a car, a girlfriend.
