Both Susan & David can see another one sitting on the nest.

The position of the feeder only gives me the option of shooting into the light, but you get the idea. I'm not sure if this is a Rufous or an Anna's. They seem to be migratory through here- on their way somewhere else.

What a pity that you people "from away" were not here last night to be blinded by the sight of me, the queen of blue jeans, in bugle beads.

Here we are on stage with the Pender Harbour chorus and orchestra.

How nice to have about 500 people jump to their feet at the end and give us a standing ovation.

Ken is sure he has heard enough "Amens" to last him a lifetime.

Still fooling around with the new camera.

Click on this picture to see how the new camera stops the action of the spray hitting the rocks. It has a feature called 'burst', which takes a bunch of consecutive shots really fast and then you pick out the best one.

New camera

Yesterday we were on the island, where Ken gave blood and we spent some time shopping for a new camera. We had looked at Olympus here in town, and they are very nice, but a little steep for us.

So we talked to Staples and London Drugs and finally bought a London Drugs special buy-a Panasonic FZ7, at a very good price because they are coming out with a newer model and London Drugs bought all the old ones.

Fine with us.

We are still in Simple mode for beginners, but this shot was at maximum zoom, which is 12X which goes up to 16X if you know how to set things properly-we don't.

Anyway we couldn't read the name of the tug until we got home and looked at the picture.
Bailey's job is to clean up the beach and she's very diligent about it-eating away on anything she can find.
A miserable windy day-I guess the eagles were out hunting.

The Eagles of Benson's Beach

Today we met friends from Red Deer on the beach in hopes of catching the eagles at their nest.
No sign of them for about 1/2 hour-only a Cooper's hawk watching the nest intently.
Then they arrived and posed beautifully.
Lorraine just bought a new camera with 10x zoom lens-
wow-I want one of those!
As you can see she took some great pictures....

My debut as a member of the Powell River Chorus

Get this-

the music festival going on in the Evergreen Theatre, adult hockey game in the big arena and kids hockey in the smaller arena.

-all in the same building.

Very creative parking in the parking lot.
Rain and snow didn't seem to deter hundreds of people from attending.
